Does it reply on its own?

No. It answers only when you ask. The rest of the time it is a notebook.

Can I write about real people?

Yes, your own life is yours to write about. The journal is private; characters and pictures of real people are a different matter and are not allowed.

Can I export it?

Yes, everything you wrote can be exported from Settings, and deleted whenever you like.
